On this page we're planning our trip to FOSDEM 2012.

The event takes place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of February, but it's a good advice to arrive on Friday (to attend the beer event and have pre-FOSDEM chats with all kinds of people) and (depending on how far you have to travel) leave on Monday.

• In the above tables, only the person having done the booking is fixed. All others can move between rooms.
• If Simon cannot attend, we will cancel Bo's room and move him to Christian's.
• If Simon can attend, we'll have to share the extra money for the empty bed. Or find someone else to stay with Bo.

Below are possible hotels we could stay at. Of course there's also youth hostels and opportunities to do couch surfing. But staying somewhere as a group can be a lot of fun, makes socialising easy and helps finding the venue etc.

• Hotel Du Congres (alternative URL seems to be http://www.hotel-ducongres.com)
  • We've stayed here twice. It's cheap (approx. 60€ per person per weekend), includes breakfast, free WiFi, twin and triple rooms, is at 10 minutes walking distance to the city centre, and the tram from/to FOSDEM has a stop around the corner. — Jannis Pohlmann 2011/12/31 00:55
  • A triple room is 330€ for 2 nights, that would be 110 per person. People staying until Monday would have to pay 165€ if staying in a triple room. — Jannis Pohlmann 2012/01/08 18:02
• Renaissance Brussels Hotel
  • Christoph says it is great and has great breakfast. It is not as close to the city centre as some of the alternatives. A twin room is 170€ for 2 nights, so 85€ per person. There are no triple rooms. — Jannis Pohlmann 2012/01/08 18:02
• Sun Hotel
  • Appears to be quite cheap, triple room is 160€ for 2 nights, which makes around 55€ per person. It's also quite central but maybe the standard is lower than in the other hotels. — Jannis Pohlmann 2012/01/08 18:44
