This is a compiled list of known issues in the several stages to the release of Xfce 4.6.

Current svn

  • Display settings are broken with (unreleased) randr 1.3. (bug #4966, release-notes, milestone=4.6.1)
  • Impossible to use Space or Escape in shortcuts. (bug #4972, release-notes, milestone=4.6.1)
  • DPI settings are broken when set to “automatic” mode. Force it to your DPI. (bug #4374 and GTK+ bug #551634, r29521).
  • Some Xfce Menu items are unsorted (bug #4451,r28979).
  • xfce4-settings-manager window doesn't save dimensions at exit. (bug #4473, r28537)
  • xfce4-settings-manager window size calculation needs to be improved. (r28526)
  • xfce4-settings-editor cannot be used to edit settings. It is possible to reset them now. (r28544)
  • xfwm4 does not use the keyboard shortcuts configured in the settings dialog. (r28542)
  • Thunar does not support XDG_USER_DIRS yet. (r28500)
  • “Help” buttons in settings dialogs aren't hooked up yet.
  • Items in a launcher menu with several items are in reverse order when compared to 4.4.x (bug #4450, r28387).
  • Libcanberra support is missing from xfwm4 (event-sounds).
  • SmRestartImmediately support for xfce4-session isn't implemented yet.
  • Session editor in 'Sessions and Startup' settings dialog isn't implemented yet.
  • Autostart items are run twice if there is no saved session (bug #4486, r28810).

RC 1 − Capybara − 4.5.99.1

  • Some Xfce Menu items are unsorted (bug #4451).
  • DPI settings are broken when set to “automatic” mode. Force it to your DPI. (bug #4374, r29521)).
  • Impossible to use Space or Escape in shortcuts. (bug #4972)

Beta 2 − Hopper − 4.5.92

  • Some Xfce Menu items are unsorted (bug #4451,r28979).
  • DPI settings are broken when set to “automatic” mode. Force it to your DPI. (bug #4374, r29521).
  • Autostart items are run twice if there is no saved session (bug #4486, r28810).

Beta 1 - Fuzzy - 4.5.91

  • Some Xfce Menu items are unsorted (bug #4451,r28979).
  • xfce4-settings-manager window doesn't save dimensions at exit (bug #4473).

Alpha - Pinkie - 4.5.90

  • Themes are unsorted in xfwm4 settings (bug #4318, r27864).
  • Some Xfce Menu items are unsorted (bug #4451,r28979). * xfdesktop and xfce4-menu-plugin can crash when installing new .desktop files or icons. (<del>bug #3615, r27912).
  • after installing or removing applications, xfdesktop and xfce4-menu-plugin entries are shown twice (bug #4342, r27912).
  • xfwm4 does not use the keyboard shortcuts configured in the settings dialog.
  • xfce4-settings-editor cannot be used to edit settings. It does show some of them though.
  • xfce4-settings depends on glib 2.14 due to the wrong API being used in xfce4-settings-editor (bug #4377, r27881).
  • Workspaces settings dialog is missing the margins settings (bug #4438,r28019).
  • Workspaces settings dialog cannot set workspace names.
  • Icons for app launchers are not shown properly on the desktop.
  • “Help” buttons in settings dialogs aren't hooked up yet.
  • Volume plugin for xfce4-mixer doesn't refresh actual volume until panel is restarted (bug #4370).
  • Items in a launcher menu with several items are in reverse order when compared to 4.4.x (bug #4450).
  • Menus are not automatically refreshed when modified (bug #4444).
  • DPI settings are broken when set to “automatic” mode. Force it to your DPI (bug #4374 and GTK+ bug #551634).
