Transifex is the plaftorm for translators and project maintainers installed at translations.xfce.org. It gives the possibility to upload translations through a simple form instead of learning technical tools.

Transifex provides statistics per languages, per projects and per collections. The Xfce collection view is the most interesting as it lets you know if the main projects are fully translated. When you are in a collection view and you click on one of the languages you will get a page with the statistics of the language for all the different projects of the corresponding collection. The Xfce collection has several components for the different stable versions and one for the development branch. The other collections have only development components as they aren't part of official Xfce releases.

On the main page of Transifex click the Register link and fill in your desired username and email. You will get a verification email with a validation link. After this is done, send a mail on the i18n mailing-list and ask to be added to the translators group so that you have upload rights. Don't forget to set your first and last name on the profile page, otherwise your submitted translation will be rejected!

For multiple translators of a single language it is interesting to share the work and/or to design a proof-reader. A team page can be created on this wiki, see the teams entry page.

When you are indetified on Transifex and have the upload rights it is very simple to upload new translations. Go to a project and choose the component that corresponds to a stable version or to the development branch — you can pass through the collection page to find a project — then click on the small Upload button at the right of your language or the “Add new translation” button. Fill in the form with the path to the file and click the Send button.
