Deprecated panel-plugins

As of the Xfce 4.16 release (late 2020), gtk2 will no longer be supported. As as a result of this change, the following plugins may no longer work with newer releases.

*Note*: This is *NOT* an authoritative list and is due to modification as more testing and verification is completed.

Plugins that do not meet Gtk3 requirements (depend upon using libxfce4panel-1.0)

  • xfce4-embed-plugin
  • xfce4-mailwatch-plugin
  • xfce4-notes-plugin

Plugins that meet Gtk3 requirements but may fail to build on 4.16

Current reports (as of 20200831) show the following plugins build successfully from git master but are failing when built from tarballs.

Plugins that meet Gtk3 requirements and successfully build/install on 4.16

  • xfce4-clipman-plugin
  • xfce4-eyes-plugin
  • xfce4-fsguard-plugin
  • xfce4-mpc-plugin
  • xfce4-netload-plugin
  • xfce4-places-plugin

Note: The above results may change as additional testing and verification is perormed or if these plugins are updated by their authors/devs.
